His Arms Are Open

The things of this world can easily distract us from the One who deserves and desires our attention the most. Everyday responsibilities and our busy schedules are constantly vying for our attention in every possible direction. The constant chaos of our lives can sometimes make it a challenge to ignore the clutter and focus our eyes on God. It would be nice to imagine the opportunity to remove every distraction from our lives to fully focus our attention on Him but, unfortunately, the clutter of our lives does not like to take breaks. If we tell ourselves that we are waiting for the perfect time or opportunity, we will never find it.

Jesus had a busy schedule but even amid all that He did, His anchor was His Father. God wants to be your anchor too. He is there for you in the sad, dark, and scary places and in the happy, joyful, and comfortable places as well. He is there for you in the grocery store, around the dinner table, and every moment in between. He sees what you go through every day. He hears your concerns and praises. He knows your inmost thoughts, desires, fears, and joys. He knew you yesterday and He knows you tomorrow. He's got you. He is always right next to you with His arms open wide. He wants to use you and shower you with His love. He wants to fill that God-shaped hole in your heart. He wants to be your anchor in every storm and celebration.

Here are a few of my favorite verses about God being with us:

  • Isaiah 41:10
  • Joshua 1:9
  • Deuteronomy 31:6
  • Romans 8:38-39
  • Zephaniah 3:17
  • Matthew 28:20
  • Psalm 23:4
  • John 14:16-17
  • Psalm 27:1
  • 2 Timothy 1:7
  • John 14:27
  • Isaiah 40:31

As you go throughout your days and busy schedules, be encouraged that God is with you in every moment and that He is always nearby with His arms open wide. ♥
