Life Update: College Senior, Traveling, Delight Ministries

The past six months have been a whirlwind. This season of life has been filled with so many blessings and opportunities but at a quick pace. Memories have been made that will genuinely last a lifetime. From magazine interviews, my final year in college as an undergrad, to traveling, and stepping into new leadership roles, 2022 has been eventful, to say the least.

Back in January, I started my senior year of college at Texas State University and now I am only a month-and-a-half away from the beginning of my final semester before I graduate. This past spring semester was so good as I enjoyed all of my classes, continued to find my way around campus, met some wonderful people, made new friends, went to several events, and continued my involvement with Delight Ministries.

In February, I went with a good friend of mine to Dallas for a For The Girl tour stop. For The Girl is the sister ministry of Delight that is focused on women of all ages instead of just college-aged girls like Delight is. It was a fun couple of days as we worshiped, read His Word with other women from around the state, and even made a stop on the way back home at Magnolia in Waco. That month, a few of my friends and I also threw a baby shower for a couple from our small group which was a sweet time.

Lately, I've also enjoyed booking more photography sessions for couples, families, and individuals. So far this year has been a great time to improve my photography business and meet new people. I've really enjoyed getting to work for myself and setting my own schedule, especially as a full-time college student.

I turned 22 in April! It was a celebratory time with dinner, a picnic with friends, and sweet messages. In April I also had a photo of mine revealed on campus for Texas State's A Week In The Life ceremony. I had been picked as one of the finalists for my photo submission of a student's view on campus. I also attended our campus's United worship night which was followed by a few baptisms of my friends!

Something very exciting from this year so far was the news that I would be on Delight's fall 2022 leadership team! I had decided to apply this past semester since I only have one more semester before I graduate, interviewed, and was given the news that I was selected. I am so excited to serve through Delight with my fellow teammates as Book Coordinator this fall semester. In May I finally received my class ring at our Spring Ring Celebration which I had been looking forward to ever since I ordered it back in March, I was interviewed for an article with VoyageAustin Magazine, and I finished my first semester of senior year.

In June I traveled to Lousiana for our annual family reunion, spent a week in Colorado on our church's youth group trip as a sponsor, and took a day trip back to my hometown in east Texas for a surprise anniversary party for my grandparent's 50th.

This year I've also continued mentoring a young girl from church, co-leading our weekly young adult Bible study, hanging out with friends and family, and recently, enjoying the summer months. We are only halfway through this year and the latter half of 2022 will be bittersweet as I finish my undergrad degree, spend my last semester with Delight Ministries, and begin to prepare for the next season of life.

As I look back on my life I am so thankful for where He has brought me and all the details that have happened in my life over the years. Even though the seasons of change up ahead can be difficult, I am excitedly expectant for the next thing He has in store. ♥
